Why the CPCU Society

While many members hold or are pursuing The Institutes' CPCU designation, it is not a requirement to join.  We support all risk management and insurance professionals on their unique paths including the pursuit of CPCU, other Institutes' designations, and more.

International Ambassador Program

Each year, a committed Society member is selected to help increase awareness and share the mission and vision of the CPCU Society outside the United States.  The Society supports the International Ambassador's participation in In2Risk, and in exchange, the Ambassador is charged with visiting industry employers to understand their professional development needs and communicate the value of CPCU membership.

The 2021 Ambassador, Anant Borole, CPCU, MBA, CCRA,  currently works as Senior Manager of Product Strategy at QOMPLX, Inc., where he helps define next-generation modeling capabilities for both natural and man-made perils. His specialty is quantitative portfolio management for property-catastrophe lines. He has an MBA from George Washington University, where he was a Global Leadership Fellow, and an undergraduate degree in computer engineering from Goa University in India.

Tell us about yourself as a professional.
My family emigrated from Jamaica to the Washington, D.C. area in the late 1980s. I attended the University of Maryland College Park working on a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering. I was fortunate to work as an engineering intern at a captive property insurance company and came on as a full-time field engineer after graduation. Like most people, I fell into the insurance industry. For the next 20 years I worked in both loss control and underwriting highly protected risk (HPR) type occupancies. During that time, I obtained my Professional Engineer (PE) license in Delaware and Maryland. As my curiosity about the insurance industry grew, I obtained the Associates in Risk Management (ARM), and Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designations. Most recently, I completed a Masters of Business Administration in Insurance from Olivet College.

I am the current President of the Maryland Chapter of the CPCU Society, as well as a committee member on the CPCU Society Risk Management & Loss Control interest group. I am Secretary for my local Toastmasters club, and President of my neighborhood association......
