Exploring the Evolving Landscape of Electric Vehicle Risks April 30,2024 Join us for an update to the popular 2023 In2Risk session on electric vehicle risks. We’re in a moment of profound automotive transformation as the internal combustion engine slowly gives way to the electric vehicle (EV). The transition to EVs won’t simply mean a new type of vehicle on the road, but a new and evolving ecosystem of potential risks for insurers to contemplate. This session will explore what that new ecosystem may look like--from battery fires and cyber threats to potentially fragile battery supply chains, and new use cases such as connecting EVs to electrical grids. The transition to EVs will have broad impacts likely well beyond the vehicles themselves, touching property, cyber, supply chain, and ESG concerns. Attendees will learn how EVs may differ from traditional vehicles in terms of safety and better understand some of the potential issues facing the rollout of EVs, including lithium-ion battery fires, and the cyber risks to EVs and EV charging networks. They’ll also learn about some of the potential evolving risks surrounding EVs, including bi-directional charging and supply chain threats. |
