What do you wish everybody knew about the CPCU Society?
The CPCU society is one of those rare professional organizations that celebrates education and accomplishments. The bond between fellow CPCUs is extremely strong and the CPCU network greatly enhances career opportunities and growth prospects within the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry.
CPCU Society members are passionate about their work. Some call this “geeking out” or being an “insurance nerd.” What have YOU been trying to get better at recently, and what was helpful to you?
The insurance industry has been evolving rapidly over the last decade or so with the advent of digitalization, big data, robotics, artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and the Insurtech revolution. The next wave of insurance revolution will be tied to Industry 4.0 (IIoT) and the Telecom revolution (5G, WiFI 6) etc. We are moving from indemnifying for a loss to proactively predicting and stopping a loss.
With my current job, I am very happy to say that I am at the forefront of the next insurance revolution and doing my part to make this world a safer place.
Some people think there’s more to life than insurance and risk management. If you agree, tell us about something else you’re passionate about.
Education is a lifelong endeavor. Like all CPCUs, I am constantly enhancing my skillset with further certifications and courses. Currently I am pursuing Doctor of Management from University of Maryland.
But apart from education, I am passionate about making this world a safer place and helping those in need. Recently I joined the Red Cross organization as a Disaster Action Team volunteer and undergoing the necessary training before I can volunteer for field work which I am really looking forward to!
