Managing Change and Overcoming Fear

It has been a tumultuous last year in an industry that was already experiencing great disruption and upheaval. It is coming at a time when we need diverse and inclusive workplaces to attract and retain employees. How can we manage our attitudes with so much change? How can we face our own doubts and fears and assist others in doing the same? We will look at research and statistics that power of believing in ourselves and others. Maslow's hierarchy of needs lists a sense of belonging as second only to safety and physiological needs. By creating an environment in which employees feel competent and included, an organization can build a thriving and creative workplace to which people bring their best selves.

Darcy Andrews

Darcy Andrews is a Senior Underwriter with Liberty Mutual. Prior to working at Liberty, she has worked on the agency side in surplus lines, has been a captive underwriter, and has owned her own small business. Darcy is a lifelong learner and holds multiple designations, including the CPCU. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University. Her focus is on positive leadership, and how organizations can create a more inclusive workplace. She believes educating, empowering, and encouraging others is key. She has served on the Oregon Chapter CPCU board since 2019.
