Tell us about yourself as a professional. Do you have a special interest or area of expertise, unusual background or experience, or a topic or skill you’re working to get better at?

A transformation leader, consultant, and problem-solver who believes business doesn’t have to be complicated to be powerful. For over 15 years, I’ve helped organizations turn strategy into results — aligning vision, people, and process so teams can focus on what really matters. I’ve led teams across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, guiding organizations through change with structure, flexibility, and a global perspective.

Why are you passionate about working in insurance and/or risk management?

I’m passionate about working in insurance and risk management because it sits at the intersection of people, systems, and trust. Throughout my career in the insurance industry and education, I’ve seen firsthand how effective risk management protects not just financial outcomes, but individuals, families, and organizations during moments that matter most.

I've worked closely with complex processes, regulatory requirements, and cross-functional teams to improve how risk is identified, communicated, and mitigated. What motivates me is turning complexity into clarity—designing processes that are efficient, compliant, and customer-centered so people can make informed decisions with confidence.

Insurance and risk management also align with my passion for continuous improvement and service. When done well, they create stability, resilience, and fairness. Being part of that responsibility—helping organizations manage uncertainty while keeping people at the center—is what drives my continued commitment to this field.

How have you grown or been challenged this year and how has that impacted your work in the risk management and insurance industry?

This year challenged me to grow in adaptability, perspective, and intentional leadership. Stepping back from a traditional full-time role while balancing family responsibilities and preparing to re-enter the workforce pushed me to sharpen how I prioritize, communicate, and deliver value with focus and efficiency.

Professionally, this period strengthened my ability to assess risk holistically looking beyond technical controls to human behavior, capacity, and change readiness. Through consulting, process improvement work, and continued engagement with insurance and risk concepts, I became even more attuned to how unclear processes, misaligned incentives, and poor communication can create hidden risk.

As a result, my approach to risk management has become more practical and people-centered. I now place greater emphasis on simplicity, standardization, and sustainability—designing solutions that teams can realistically adopt and maintain. This growth has reinforced my belief that effective risk management is not just about policies and models, but about building systems that support sound decision-making under real-world constraints.

How has your involvement in the CPCU Society benefitted you this year?

My involvement in the CPCU Society this year has strengthened both my professional network and my perspective on the evolving insurance and risk management landscape. Through engagement with CPCU peers, events, and shared thought leadership, I’ve stayed connected to industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices—particularly around governance, ethics, and customer-centered decision-making.

The Society has also reinforced the value of continuous learning and professional accountability. Engaging with other CPCUs has challenged me to think more critically about how risk frameworks translate into real-world execution, especially during times of change. These conversations have directly influenced how I approach process improvement and risk assessment—placing greater emphasis on clarity, integrity, and sustainability.

Overall, the CPCU Society has served as both a learning community and a professional anchor, helping me remain engaged, relevant, and aligned with the standards that define excellence in the insurance industry.

In your opinion, what’s the best thing about being a CPCU Society member?

I also appreciate the exposure to diverse perspectives and the emphasis on ethics and continuous learning—it keeps the work meaningful and people-centered.

or anything else that is important to you.

Outside of work, my family shapes how I see and engage with the world. My daughter’s love of soccer and my son’s passion for fencing inspire curiosity, discipline, and joy in learning. My husband, who has been my partner for over 25 years, is a daily reminder of the value of long-term commitment and teamwork. Together, we focus on teaching our kids about community service and giving back, while I channel these values into my work helping businesses create lasting, positive impact.

Post-pandemic, running became a personal passion that quickly grew into a way to connect community. Leading a growing local running group has shown me firsthand how shared experiences bring people together, reinforcing the same principles I bring to business: connection, collaboration, and purposeful action.

Living abroad and exploring new cultures has also shaped my perspective — influencing how I cook, travel, and approach challenges with curiosity and creativity, always looking for ways to make a meaningful difference.
