Eric Hubicki, CPCU, ARe, ARM

Senior Vice President, Underwriting Manager

Topsail Reinsurance Underwriters, LLC
 

Located in Chicago, Eric is a senior vice president and underwriting manager for North Carolina based Topsail Reinsurance Underwriters, LLC. He has more than 25 years of experience in primary and reinsurance underwriting operations. Eric started his career as a personal line automobile underwriting manager for American Ambassador Insurance Company, then transitioned to the commercial side as a commercial line underwriting manager for Safeco Insurance Company. His reinsurance career began with SCOR Reinsurance, followed by positions as an integral member of a specialty lines unit at Munich Re and at BMS Intermediaries, and as a director at Arch Reinsurance Company before joining Topsail Re.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and holds six insurance designations: CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), ARe (Associate in Reinsurance), AU (Associate in Underwriting), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), PFMM (Professional Farm Mutual Manager) and AFIS (Agricultural Farm Insurance Specialist). He was president of the Chicago NW CPCU chapter, is current chairman of the CPCU Reinsurance and Excess Surplus Lines Interest Group, contributor to industry publications and an advocate of insurance education. Eric is also an active board member of a mutual insurance company and manages underwriting teams, marketing, underwriting and account management for national, regional, specialty and niche insurance companies.

 

Ryan White, MBA, CPCU, ARe

Vice President, Ceded Reinsurance

UFG Insurance
 

Ryan White is the vice president of ceded reinsurance at UFG Insurance. Mr. White joined UFG as a commercial line underwriter trainee in 2006 in the Great Lakes region and steadily ascended through the underwriting ranks, holding roles as associate, commercial, and senior underwriter before serving as an underwriting supervisor from 2014 to 2018. In 2018, he became underwriting manager in the Great Lakes region, and in 2019, he was selected as the first underwriting manager of UFG Online, helping to launch the newly formed department while building the initial underwriting framework and onboarding the underwriting staff. In 2021 he was named assistant vice president, and in addition to his underwriting background, White holds extensive reinsurance experience, having supported UFG's ceded reinsurance placements (circa 2014) and managing UFG's global retrocessional assumed reinsurance portfolio (circa 2019). In 2023, he moved into reinsurance full time, transitioning into the newly created role director of ceded reinsurance before being named vice president in 2025.

White holds a BBA in finance and an MBA from the University of Iowa. He also has the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate in Commercial Underwriting - Management (AU-M), Associate in Commercial Lines Underwriting (AU), and Associate in General Insurance (AINS) professional designations. White has served on the board of the Cedar Valley CPCU Chapter since 2020 and recently joined the CPCU Reinsurance and Excess Surplus Lines Interest Group in 2023, serving as vice chair for the 2024 term.
