Self-Insured Retentions: Claim Minefield or Opportunity?

Tuesday, July 16, 2019  2:00 pm Eastern

What it’s about:
Insureds love lower premiums. To capture savings, many policyholders and brokers seek high deductibles and self-insured retentions (SIRs). However, when carriers cede claim-handling to policyholders, insurers face financial and reputational risks. This webinar will outline oft-overlooked pitfalls of SIRs in claims management, suggest practical strategies for assessing an account’s “fitness” for self-handling/managing claims and identify ways to minimize friction between insureds and carriers writing coverage atop SIRs.

At the end of this webinar, active attendees will understand:

  • Differences between self-insured retentions and large deductibles
  • The claim management pros and cons of SIRs
  • Diagnostics for determining insureds’ capability for managing or handling claims

Who should attend:
This webinar will deliver substantive value to risk managers, retail agents, brokers, marketers, underwriters and claims professionals. Any risk or insurance professional looking to manage increasing premium costs while maintaining professionalization of the claim function will benefit from attending.
