This webinar will acquaint attendees with research that has led to significant changes in roof structures, and the resulting implications for insurance professionals. Two strategic investigation programs in particular—the Wind Investigation and Hail Investigation Program—will be discussed, along with ways to educate policyholders.

At the end of this webinar, active attendees will understand:

  • Findings from the Hurricane Research Investigations and the Hail Research Investigations
  • What opportunities are available for research
  • The available resources for report and best practices

David L. Roodvoets

David L.  Roodvoets is an independent consultant He is past Chairman of RICOWI (Roof Industry Committee on Weather Issues), SPRI Technical Director, Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) BOD. Previously, he was employed as an Associate Development Scientist for the Dow Chemical Company and Technical Director for the T. Clear Corporation.  Mr. Roodvoets has been involved with research on all facets of roofing systems.  He has worked with major research institutions and conducted extensive wind tunnel testing of roofing systems.  Recently he has worked on developing fire & wind standards for vegetative roofs, ventilation requirements for attics and cathedral ceilings and hurricane and hail damage investigations by RICOWI. He is the author of several papers on roofing products and applications, and has had several articles published in industry magazines.

How do I report my CE for CPCUs credit?

Webinars count for 1 hour of CE for CPCUs credit. Your credit will be automatically reported with your registration for a live webinar. You can also earn CE for CPCUs credit by viewing recorded webinars though the Knowledge Center. All webinars watched in the Knowledge Center will be automatically reported for 1 credit.

Are CPCU Society webinars approved for state licensure CE?

At this time none of the webinars are approved for CE in any state.
