New investments are attracting significant venture capital and spawning new business models that use technologies to change how the industry operates. This webinar provides an update of what is happening in insurtech and shares some practical examples of how the insurance ecosystem is changing.

Michael Fitzgerald

Mike Fitzgerald is a senior analyst for Celent. He has previously held leadership positions in property-casualty automation, operations management and insurance product development. Fitzgerald's research focuses on innovation, billing, business processes and operations, social media and distribution management. Prior to joining Celent, Fitzgerald was vice president of enterprise underwriting solutions at Zurich North America, and he held a number of positions at Royal & Sun Alliance, including a field operations regional executive role. Fitzgerald has a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Davidson College and a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.


Patrick Schmid

Dr. Patrick G. Schmid is an economist and the assistant vice president of Enterprise Research for The Institutes. As the head of The Institutes' Enterprise Research department, he leads teams that develop market insights and analytical research.

Dr. Schmid formerly served as the director of Research for the Insurance Research Council (IRC), a division of The Institutes. He has a master's degree and doctorate in economics from Temple University. He has taught economics and related subjects at a number of Philadelphia-area colleges and universities. Prior to working in the insurance industry, he worked as an economist for Moody's Analytics.

How do I report my CE for CPCUs credit?

Webinars count for 1 hour of CE for CPCUs credit. Your credit will be automatically reported with your registration for a live webinar. You can also earn CE for CPCUs credit by viewing recorded webinars though the Knowledge Center. All webinars watched in the Knowledge Center will be automatically reported for 1 credit.

Are CPCU Society webinars approved for state licensure CE?
