CPCU Society Statistics
The CPCU Society is a membership organization of more than 22,000 credentialed insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. The Society's members hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) designation, which is conferred by The Institutes and requires passing eight rigorous undergraduate- and graduate-level examinations, meeting an experience requirement, and agreeing to be bound by a strict code of professional ethics.
CPCUs are influential leaders. More than one-half of CPCU Society members are in management positions within their organizations. And approximately 5% of CPCU Society members are active in leadership activities at the Society or local chapter level.
CPCUs are highly educated. Ninety-six percent of our members who list a degree have a bachelor's degree or higher.
CPCUs have industry experience. To earn the CPCU designation, one must have at least two years of property-casualty insurance industry experience.
CPCUs are committed to the highest level of ethical performance in all of their professional activities.
