Leadership Council

The CPCU Society Leadership Council is a group of appointed volunteers who provide strategic oversight, direction and guidance for the CPCU Society and it's members.

President and Chair

Elaine George CPCU, ARM, RPLU, ASLI

Elaine George, CPCU, ARM, RPLU, ASLI is Vice President of the Internet of Things (IoT) at Chubb Insurance. In addition to IoT, she has experience underwriting US and international business. Prior to Chubb, she worked in California for USLI, a Berkshire Hathaway Company & for Patriot Insurance Company, a regional carrier in Maine. She is a volunteer leader with The Institutes CPCU Society and Rotary International.

President Elect

James Jones, MBA, CPCU, AIC, ARM, AISP

James Jones has been the Executive Director of the Katie School of Risk Management at Illinois State University since 2001. Jones works with Katie School staff, the Dean of the College of Business (COB), industry executives, departments chairs, and faculty in helping to develop talent for industry and educate students at the velocity of change. Jones co-founded the minor at ISU on Business Environment and Sustainability and developed a course on Risk, Sustainability, and Insurance. He hosts the Working through Risks podcast and is Co-Editor in Chief for the Journal of Insurance Issues.

Secretary

Ramya Sunad, CPCU, ARM-E

Ramya currently serves as a Lead Underwriter with USAA, where she is responsible for managing the Underwriting Catastrophe Management Team. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Marketing Management from India, and also obtained her Master's degree in Insurance Management from Boston University.

Immediate Past President

Sherry McFadden, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI

Sherry served as an Operations Director with State Farm Insurance Companies in Phoenix, AZ where she also previously held several leadership roles in multiple operational departments. She has a Master of Science in Human Resources from the University of North Florida and is pursuing a doctoral program from the American College of Education in Public and Nonprofit Leadership. In addition to her work with the CPCU Society, Sherry is currently Board Chair of the Greater Phoenix Urban League Executive Board, Member-At-Large of the Valley Leadership Executive Board, and Vice- President of her local chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
