Political Risk: From the Old To the New
Speaker: Alexander Frost
March 26th at 10 AM ET
In the last decade, there has been a marked increase in global political risks. Some are classic, like the potential for protectionist regulation in the aftermath of Brexit, or the US-China trade war. But today’s international environment is characterized by a slate of new threats: twitter activism, geopolitical cyber-attacks, and human rights risk. Moreover, the entire political system and the institutions we have come to rely upon for security and trade, now pose a major threat. Many of these new risks fly under the radar of companies and organizations. They have long lasting repercussions and can be challenging to mitigate. This webinar will describe the changing nature of political risk as a phenomenon, how proper risk management can better insulate firms from the shocks, and how the global insurance industry can lead in their resolution.
