The CPCU Society has been experiencing a trending decline in membership over the past twenty years due to a variety of challenges – not the least of which is the need to clearly articulate return-on-investment and value as expenses continue to be more closely monitored and scrutinized. The Society needs to take more significant steps to ensure future sustainability.
In 2018, the Leadership Council and senior staff drafted updated mission and vision statements as well as a three-year strategic plan including a goal to increase a diverse membership.
Our Mission: The CPCU Society will provide knowledge and leadership opportunities for a global community of risk and insurance professionals in order to advance the industry and benefit those they serve while adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Our Vision: The CPCU Society will be the premier inclusive community of risk and insurance professionals who shape the future of the industry.
In order to achieve these goals and fulfill our mission and vision, the Society must continue to provide effective resources, education, and leadership opportunities. As a professional community, it is the responsibility of all volunteer leaders, staff and members to ensure future relevancy and the Society is committed to learning more about our challenges and opportunities.
To learn more, the Society is conducting a Membership Model Research project. This study will engage key stakeholders including lapsed and non-members and will consist of a review of existing data, phone interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
If you are asked to participate in any of these research tactics, we thank you in advance for your time and encourage you to give your total and honest feedback. This is your community and we cannot continue to improve without your help.
