James L. Britt, CPCU, 2007-2008 CPCU Society President, Quoted at Length in Risk and Insurance Magazine article.
James L. Britt, CPCU, 2007-2008 CPCU Society president, is extensively quoted in  “The Main Ingredients,” appearing in the April 15, 2008 issue of Risk and Insurance Magazine. In the article, which describes what kind of people become underwriters, Britt calls upon his decades of experience in the insurance industry to focus on certain characteristics.  He observes that underwriters need to be skeptics, that they have to be quick on their feet, that they require great communications skills, and that they must harbor a devotion to the culture and mission of their employers.  This is an outstanding piece for anyone wanting to understand the role of the underwriter in the insuring process.
