Ethics and the Insurance Professional: Building Strength

Synopsis and Learning Objectives

“Practice makes perfect!” An old saying still relevant today. Athletes train to develop skills and a thing called “muscle memory.” Muscle memory allows the athlete to carry out difficult physical maneuvers without thinking through the process involved in the maneuver. Well, ethics training can do the same thing for insurance professionals— help us build strength and “ethics memory.” With strength comes the courage of our convictions, and it allows us to make the right decision without thinking about it.

This Ethics module is designed to let you present a program to your chapter that will stretch your members’ ethics muscles. By viewing the PowerPoint presentation in the “notes view” you will find the leader’s guide, discussion ideas, and comments. This is an interactive program, so be sure to allow time for discussion. You'll find that your members will have a lot to say.
