Using the Society's Code of Ethics
Use the CPCU Society Code of Ethics to bring awareness to the public and member employers, as this will help increase the visibility of the CPCU Society and enhance the value of an employee who carries the CPCU designation.

Meeting Focus:
  • Ethics commitment of CPCUs

  • Importance of ethical business practice and the related perception of the insurance industry by its customers/stakeholders

  • Relationship of ethics balance—contract/policy promise and claim settlement practice

  • Ethical business practices to address consumer insurance fraud

  • Inviting a speaker from another profession—academia, law, law enforcement, politics—to share their experiences with questions of ethics

Resources

  • Access recent ethics publications as a basis for discussion.

  • Contact your local radio station's producer for talk shows to suggest a discussion on ethics.

  • Approach local college classes about a presentation for their business or ethics classes.
