Local Conferment

Recognition of new CPCU designees by the local insurance community and their employers is vital to the growth and success of the CPCU Society, your chapter, and to the CPCU designation.

Local CPCU diploma presentations can be held only after the AICPCU conferment ceremony is held at the CPCU Society Annual Meeting and Seminars in the fall. Local conferments must be performed by a conferring officer authorized by AICPCU guidelines.

Authorized conferring officers include:

  • members of the Board of Trustees of the American Institute for CPCU
  • academic and administrative executives of the American Institute for CPCU
  • the Chief Executive Officer and present CPCU Society officers and directors
  • other individuals specifically designated by the American Institute for CPCU

To request a conferring officer, please complete and return a Conferring Officer Request Form (doc). For more information, refer to our conferment best practices (doc), e-mail Chapter Services or call (800) 932-CPCU, ext. 2755.

For guidelines, facsimile diplomas, instructions and sample scripts to assist you in planning and implementing a local conferment ceremony, refer to The Institutes Chapter Services webpage.
