The CPCU Society is
a membership organization of more than 28,000 credentialed insurance professionals who
promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education.
The Society's members hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter

graduate-level examinations, meeting experience requirements, and agreeing
to be bound by a strict code of professional ethics. The CPCU designation
is conferred by the American

members are in management positions within their organizations. And approximately
5 percent of CPCU Society members are active in leadership activities
at the Society or local chapter level.
CPCUs are highly educated. Ninety-eight percent of our members who list a degree have
a bachelor's degree or higher.
CPCUs have industry experience. To earn the CPCU designation, one
must have at least three years of property and casualty insurance industry
