CPCU Society Statistics

The CPCU Society is a membership organization of more than 28,000 credentialed insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. The Society's members hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation, which requires passing eight rigorous undergraduate- and graduate-level examinations, meeting experience requirements, and agreeing to be bound by a strict code of professional ethics. The CPCU designation is conferred by the American Institute for CPCU.

CPCUs are influential leaders. More than one-half of CPCU Society members are in management positions within their organizations. And approximately 5 percent of CPCU Society members are active in leadership activities at the Society or local chapter level.

CPCUs are highly educated. Ninety-eight percent of our members who list a degree have a bachelor's degree or higher.

CPCUs have industry experience. To earn the CPCU designation, one must have at least three years of property and casualty insurance industry experience.

CPCUs are committed to the highest level of ethical performance in all of their professional activities.
