What's the weather like in Denver?
In the summer, Denver enjoys low relative humidity, resulting
in lots of sunny days and cool evenings. In August, the average daily
high temperature is 86 degrees, with an average low of 57 degrees.
Is
Denver’s
altitude a factor?
Because the city is a mile high — exactly 5,280 feet above sea level — the
sky is bluer, the air is thinner and drier, a golf ball travels 10 percent farther
and there’s less protection from the sun’s rays. The Altitude Research
Center at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine urges visitors
to drink an extra 24 to 32 ounces of water each day and to use sunscreen.
What should I wear when attending Annual Meeting events?
The overall dress code for the Annual Meeting and Seminars is business
casual, but other styles of attire are appropriate for special events
during the meeting:
- Business casual attire is appropriate for all seminars and
events. Because the temperature in meeting rooms may vary, it's
a good idea to wear layers when attending educational seminars.
- Business casual or business attire is appropriate for the Conferment
Ceremony.
- Casual attire is suggested for the Final Night Celebration.
Can I bring guests to the Annual Meeting and Seminars?
Yes. Registered Annual Meeting attendees can bring family and
friends to Denver as registered or nonregistered guests. If your
guest(s) wish to attend any optional events at the Annual Meeting,
be sure to order the appropriate number of additional tickets on
the Annual Meeting registration form.
Can nonmembers register for the Annual Meeting and Seminars?
Yes, nonmembers can register for the Annual Meeting and Seminars.
See registration
information for details.
Who can attend the Conferment Ceremony?
The Conferment Ceremony is open to all registered and nonregistered Annual Meeting
attendees. Feel free to bring your family and friends along to share in your
celebration. There is no charge for attending the Conferment Ceremony.
