What's It About?
One negative feature with claims-made policies is its complexity. A claims-made policy states that a claim must be made during the policy period or the extended reporting period (ERP), if applicable. Because no two policies are exactly the same, a basic knowledge of the claims-made coverage trigger, including the definition of a claim, the definition of a wrongful act, and the claim reporting provisions, is essential to understanding this type of coverage. In order to give your clients the informed advice they deserve, you need to be able to understand policy terminology, various coverage triggers and trigger timelines. This webinar will help you succeed in this challenging arena!

Who’s It For?
This webinar is equally beneficial for insurance customers, insurance agents/brokers, underwriters, adjusters, reinsurers and risk managers.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, the attentive learner will be able to:

  • Identify where and how the policy defines the term "claim."

  • Identify and understand requirements for reporting potential claims, incidents, circumstances or occurrences.

  • Distinguish between and understand various types of claims-made policy clauses.

  • Understand the three timelines that come into play with respect to claims-made triggers.

  • Understand the differences in extended reporting periods, and the potential impact on coverage.
