This workshop is approved for three (3) Ethics credits in the state of Missouri and three (3) CE credits in the state of Illinois.

Continuing Professional Development Program for CPCUs
CPCUs will be awarded four (4) continuing professional development (CPD) points for each workshop.


What�s It About?
This workshop will offer definitions of ethics and ethical behavior; and explain why they are important. The instructor will identify the insurance professional's ethical responsibilities, and to whom they are owed; and will describe standards for ethical behavior. The attendee will learn how ethical behavior impacts business profitability and professional image; and how ethics complement insurance regulatory requirements.

Who�s It For?
Ethical behavior is important to all professionals, so this workshop will interest all insurance, risk management and legal practitioners.

What You�ll Learn
At the conclusion of this workshop, the attentive learner will be able to:

  • Define ethics and ethical behavior, and describe why they are important.

  • Identify the insurance professional's ethical responsibilities and to whom they are owed.

  • Identify and describe standards for ethical behavior.

  • Describe how ethical behavior impacts business profitability and professional image.

  • Describe how ethics complement insurance regulatory requirements.

Instructor
Jill Haynes Gidge, CPCU, CIC, CPIW, AAI, AAM, AIT, AIS, ACSR, RN, is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. She served as vice president and secretary of Gidge Insurance Services, Inc., for more than 15 years. She has served as a regional vice president for NAIW. She was national insurance professional of the year for NAIW in 1997, and has received other awards and recognition for service and excellence in insurance. She is currently an independent insurance education consultant, trainer, and keynote speaker through her own company, Insure-Ed, which she founded in 1996.
