Emotional Intelligence: Leveraging Social Awareness for Professional Success
Speaker: Rita Williams-Bogar, CPCU, ChFC
Workshop: 8:30 a.m.–12:05 p.m.

What’s It About?
Intrapersonal and interpersonal skills are critical components of emotional intelligence, specifically self-awareness. Today's leadership programs would be well served to expand their focus on the effects of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, and how these skills contribute to the success of individuals and organizations. This workshop will explore how behavior and emotions impact the bottom line. Participants will have the opportunity to examine the link between emotional intelligence and professional competence, increase self-awareness, and leverage the insights gained to strengthen individual and group results.

Upon completing this workshop, participants will:
  • Evaluate the impact of emotional intelligence on professional success.
  • Apply the business case for emotional intelligence to one's own organization.
  • Enhance leadership effectiveness by recognizing triggers in one's self and others.
  • Create an immediately implementable action plan for performance improvement.

  • Increase awareness of the work styles of each generation and their impact on the organization's bottom line.
