What’s It About?
With the complexity of insurance products, consumers are looking to the insurance professional for information about managing risk. This workshop will explore basic risk management techniques for analyzing exposures, examining alternative financing arrangements, as well as selection and implementation of appropriate techniques for dealing with risk. This workshop will provide tools the insurance professional can use to assist customers in protecting their interests.

Who’s It For?
This workshop is designed for insurance, risk management, and financial services professionals who must develop, design, and implement programs to protect individuals and organizations from risk.

What You’ll Learn
At the conclusion of this workshop, the attentive learner will be able to:

  • Understand and explain the principles of risk management.
  • Help customers understand risk management principles and techniques, such as identifying and analyzing loss exposures, examining alternative financial techniques, and selecting the best techniques.
  • Assist clients in finding alternatives for handling loss exposures.
  • Identify and explain financial and operational factors affecting decisions to be made.

Speaker

Mary King Barbieri, CPCU, ASLI, ARM, is currently an independent insurance consultant and trainer having retired from the "traditional" insurance arena. Mary has over thirty years of insurance experience having worked in all aspects of the business, including for insurance carriers, brokers, consultants and the surplus lines market.

Mary received her CPCU designation in 1982. She has served as Past President of both the Orange Empire and Los Angeles CPCU Chapters. She also served on the National Board of Governors for the CPCU Society. In 2006 she received the coveted Rie R. Sharp Insurance Person of the Year award presented by three Los Angeles area CPCU chapters. Mary is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Education.
