CPCUs will be awarded eight (8) continuing professional development (CPD) points for the course.

What You’ll Learn          
This course is designed for nonfinancial managers responsible for making business decisions. Attendees will learn how to understand the financial impact, liabilities, and payoffs of business decisions using financial terminology and analysis tools, and to:

  • Understand financial and accounting terms, principles, and ratios.

  • Prepare budgets that support business goals and objectives.

  • Use financial statements to analyze financial performance.

  • Interpret budget-to-actual results.

Instructor
Rod Stoffels, CPCU, CIC, is currently commercial lines associate manager for Harleysville Insurance in Edina, Minnesota. He is also a past president of the Minnesota Insurance Underwriters Association and past president of the CPCU Society’s Minnesota Chapter. Currently, he is serving as a CPCU Society governor and is the CPCU Champion for the Minnesota branch of Harleysville Insurance. Stoffels holds an M.B.A. in business and insurance management from University of St. Thomas and has a B.A. in organizational behavior and communication from Concordia University. Stoffels holds the CIC designation; and the associated degrees from the Insurance Institute of America in Underwriting, Reinsurance, and Insurance Services.
