Identity Theft and Data Protection

Every three seconds a person’s identity is stolen in this country. Every individual is at risk, and most businesses have exposure to liability resulting from the wrongful disclosure of personal information. This seminar will focus on the impact of identity theft and real-world situations that insurance professionals face when dealing with the threat or reality of identity theft. The speakers will review statistics of identity theft, share best practices to help mitigate exposure and identify resources available to resolve incidents.

Presenters

Dan Taylor, CPCU, AIC, ARC, is a client relations manager for Identity Theft 911, LLC. He has experience in underwriting, claims, and product development; he has also worked as an independent insurance agent. Taylor spearheaded the development and integration for identity theft risk assessment for his previous company, State Auto Insurance. He earned his bachelors degree in business administration at Marian College.

Judd Rousseau, CFS, is the chief operating officer and director of fraud operations at Identity Theft 911, LLC.  He is a nationally recognized expert on identity theft and fraud investigation and prevention.  Rousseau has served as manager of TransUnion's Fraud Victim Assistance Department and vice president of the Southern California Chapter of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators.  He has been an instructor for the Office of Legal Education of the Department of Justice, the Association of Certified Fraud Specialists, the California District Attorneys Association, and numerous other industry and law enforcement organizations. Rousseau holds degrees from Fullerton College and the University of Phoenix.
