As
CPCU new designees from the class of 2008 celebrate their achievement
at the Institutes’ conferment ceremony in Philadelphia on September
6, 2008, Keoghan’s motivating energy and passion for life will
undoubtedly fit right in. His life-changing experiences and no-holds-barred
approach to life have created a fever around the world as he encourages
people to overcome fear and seek out memorable experiences of their own.
Keoghan weaves an exciting tale based on his own life, the lives of others,
and his 12 seasons hosting The Amazing Race.
At
the age of 19 Keoghan had a near-death encounter that led him to create
a list of things he wanted to experience before he dies and develop
what he calls the NOW (No Opportunity Wasted.) philosophy. He
says NOW is about learning how to live while you still have the chance; letting
go of the handrails; thinking outside the box and using your imagination
as your currency. It has led Keoghan around the world helping others face
their fears, embark on thrilling adventures, dream more freely and live more
fully. |
In 2004, Phil released
a book called, No Opportunity Wasted: 8 ways to create
a list for the life you want. The book was a bestseller in New
Zealand and Australia and was developed into a television series now
airing on The Discovery Channel. In each episode, challengers are given
just 72 hours to take on a life changing opportunity. Phil co-created
and co-produced a number of original television series including: Short
Sport, Keoghan's Heroes, E-Team, The Human
Edge and Phil Keoghan's Adventure Crazy.
