Help Your Members Succeed Through the Circle of Excellence Recognition Program

The Circle of Excellence submission deadline is June 1, 2009. Chapters with the most success in this program start the year with planning meetings. During this meeting the criteria are discussed and tasks delegated to the appropriate chapter leader or member. Agreement is reached on who is accountable for each item the chapter plans to complete. The chapter uses the Circle of Excellence Planning Checklist, and monitors progress each month during the year.

Many chapters “build” their COE submission document gradually adding a little each month as the year progresses. They report progress to their members and adjust the plan as necessary. But they always know where they stand and do not wait until the last month to gather all the information required for the submission.

Keep in mind that in documenting your activities for Circle of Excellence, you are not only participating in a recognition program, you are writing your chapter’s history! This one document is an excellent record for future chapter leaders to consult, and is an invaluable tool for the Society to measure the success of various initiatives on a global basis.
