Important: The registration fee includes one CE certificate per workshop, all handout material, and refreshments. It does not include the roster fee for Massachusetts, Connecticut, or New Hampshire agent or broker license holders. This must be paid in addition to your registration fee:

Effective Use of Contractual Transfers has been approved for three (3) Continuing Education credits in Massachusetts and for four (4) Continuing Education credits in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and New York.

Effective Use of Contractual Transfers

What's It About?
This workshop will explore the uses of contractual transfers, and will identify systems to reduce problems associated with contractual transfers.

Who’s It For?
This workshop is designed for professionals who must protect the interests of their own and clients’ organizations, including agents, brokers, underwriters, claim professionals, risk managers, and attorneys.

What You’ll Learn
At the conclusion of the workshop, the attentive learner will be able to:

  • Understand the underlying reasons for risk transfers through indemnification agreements, contractual liability, and insurance policies, and suggest or request appropriate alternatives.

  • Identify common problems associated with contractual risk transfers.

  • Understand how to maximize or minimize the effectiveness of contractual transfers and additional insured status.

  • Construct insurance policies to comply with contractual requirements and avoid problems.

  • Identify documentation issues regarding contractual transfer.

Analyzing Time Element Exposures

What's It About?
This workshop will examine the various kinds of time element exposures, their sources, and how to quantify their impact. The program will analyze manufacturing, retail, and other examples; and discuss alternative financing techniques.

This workshop is designed for professionals who must protect the interests of their own and clients’ organizations, including agents, brokers, underwriters, claim professionals, risk managers, and attorneys.

What You’ll Learn
At the conclusion of the workshop, the attentive learner will be able to:

  • Identify business income and extra expense exposures for commercial enterprises.

  • Identify contingent business interruption exposures for commercial enterprises.

  • Examine alternative risk financing and risk control techniques to address time element exposures.

  • Examine sources of information for identification and quantification of business income exposures.

  • Examine how to quantify time element exposures.

Instructor for Both Workshops
Richard G. Rudolph, Ph.D., CPCU, attained a doctor of philosophy in business administration in 1989, and currently holds six professional designations conferred by the American Institutes. He has written and spoken on the subjects of insurance coverages; risk financing; agent errors and omissions; financial solvency; ethics; effective business writing; and creative thinking. Rudolph has led CPCU and IIA courses since 1981, and was the first recipient of the American Institute’s Award for Outstanding Course Leadership. In 1987 he was honored as an Outstanding Instructor of the Insurance School of Chicago, and was named the CPCU Society’s August 1994 Standard Setter. He entered the insurance industry in 1972, and joined in 1992 the risk management consulting practice that now bears his name.
